Event Details

Ellen Cantor’s photographs are about time, memory, loss and aging. In her talk, she will explore her photographic journey and the influence other photographers had on her work.

By exploring, photographing, and re-contextualizing precious mementos; including, family letters, vernacular photographs, and beloved books, Ellen seeks to understand how life proceeds and then, ultimately, disappears. She documents the artifacts of the past in order to enrich the present.

Ellen photographs offer answers to a basic question—“What does our past mean to us--  as individuals, as families, and as a community?”
