Your first impressions of the U.S. Learning a new language. Being a child of immigrant parents. Everyone has a story! We invite you to tell yours in our Passages Project Storytelling Event, an initiative sponsored by the California State Library to capture the voices, experiences, and life stories of immigrants and their descendants through audio and video recordings.
The recordings will be captured using the Listening Station, a tool designed by Berkeley-based StoryCenter to capture two people in conversation. We'll help you prepare questions or topics, show you how to use the Listening Station and then you'll make your 15-30 minute recording.
You will immediately receive a copy of your recording. The legacy of your family's unique
immigration experience will become part of PVLD's community archive and the California State Library archive
preserved for future generations.
If you have any questions, please contact Monique Sugimoto at msugimoto@pvld.org or 310-377.9584, ext 213.
We look forward to hearing your story!
