Art Exhibit: Torrance Artists' Guild

Art In Our Library is pleased to welcome the Torrance Artists' Guild. Chartered by the city of Torrance, the Torrance Artists' Guild is organized to cultivate art skills, promote awareness and encourage art appreciation in the community. TAG provides members with a venue to support their artistic endeavors and provides access to experts in their field through monthly demonstrations. Art is displayed at several locations in the city. Meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month in the Ken Miller Recreation Center, 3330 Civic Center Drive, Torrance 90505. Visit their website at: www.torranceartistsguild.org.

Annual Community Art Show

Each fall, the Palos Verdes Library District holds our Annual Community Art Show, inviting both professional and amateur local artists to participate.  Artists of all ages from the community are able to exhibit their work throughout the entire library, a heavily-trafficked, accessible platform.  The exhibit and opening reception, taking place November 16th, 5-7 pm, is highly anticipated by our patrons and the artists, allowing them to connect in a fun and welcoming atmosphere.

Music and Movement

Movement, dance, and play all stimulate physical, intellectual and emotional learning. 

This 20-25 minute session aimed at all ages also supports early literacy skills like Phonological Awareness.

Sessions are led by a librarian and will include active movement and dance, flannel board rhymes or songs and some stretching, balance or yoga and a quiet good-bye song.
