Student Art Show- Success Learning Center

Stop by Malaga Cove Library and Art Gallery to see the work of the students of the Success Learning Center.  The Center is a special education school at Malaga Cove School that serves children grades K-12.  The exhibit showcases the artwork that students have created throughout the school year.  

A reception will be held April 11th, 1-2 pm.  Meet the artist and enjoy some light refreshments.

The Gardena Kuwai Sumi-E Club will be showcasing their work in the Peninsula Center Library Foyer for Asian Pacific American Heritage Month.  

Sumi-E is the traditional Japanese art technique of black ink painting.  The exhibit will showcase various works from members of the club and will also include a hands-on demonstration on May 24th. Click here for more information about the demonstration.

Jo Anna's photography is a reflection of her belief of living in the moment. Her work is spontaneous and unplanned, resulting in a vivid display of the unscripted moments that life brings her.  Her work gives viewers the feeling that they are there, within the experience of the visual image.

Jo Anna will be giving a talk about her work and experiences as a young artist on May 13th with a reception to follow.

This event is free and open to the public and seating is on a first come basis.

Join us for an all-ages collaborative art project to kick off our month long celebration of Asian Pacific American Heritage month.  We will be creating an extra-large art piece using traditional Japanese art techniques.  The resulting artwork will hang in the library for the entire month for all to see! Supplies will be provided, no registration necessary.
